The mission of Education Spotlight is to provide high-quality and integral services for young children, teens, and adults with a variety of learning or mental health needs impacting their educational success

Services Provided

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluations
Psychoeducational evaluations can be provided in person. Areas that can be evaluated include: Intellectual Functioning, Cognitive Processing, Socio/Emotional and Behavioral Functioning, Adaptive Abilities, Attention, and Executive Functioning.
Given the results, recommendations/programs/ services can be made to support student learning in a variety of settings; including the classroom and home.

Diagnosis
Identifiable diagnosis and recommendations of Learning Disabilities (related to reading, writing, and math), ADHD, Autism, and disabilities utilized within the California educational system.


Counseling
Counseling can be provided on a 1:1 basis through telehealth. Areas of focus include:

Maladaptive behaviors that impair learning

Thought processes that impacts reception and retention of knowledge

Mindfulness training to increase personal awareness, attention, and focus.

Coping Skills Development increase positive response patterns and problem solving.

Self-Regulation training- to help the child be able to better manage anxiety, depression, or any other elevated emotions.

Social Skills training to improve interpersonal skills to navigate social situations. This is especially effective for children on the ASD and ADHD spectrums.

Study Skills to learn how to be a successful student.
Parent Education
Direct support and training for parents seeking to improve the success of their child at home, in school, and other settings.


Educator Training
Training is available to public school educators, private school educators, and home school educators. Topics available include: Special Education Disability categories, Mental Health, Wellness Program Development, and Paraeducator Training.
Advocacy Services
I strive to assist families in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) for their children with disabilities. These services include educational planning, mediation, and community outreach. The goal of these services is to empower families with the knowledge and skills they need to advocate for their child's educational needs and to improve special education services.
